Hi!

 

My name is Meghan Wahlen, I am a  graduating student from SCAD university with a background in philosophy and a keen interest in storytelling.

 

With a strong appreciation for the quality of the handmade, and a belief that fashion is more than just clothing, my creative process is a direct reflection of my experience of the world. 

 

I am passionate about expressing the human condition by exploring how fashion is an extension of self. Through in-depth research, narratives that express these stories through muses which take on a life of their own. Saturated by my own experiences of life, loss and the unyielding spirit of optimism, each collection seeks to imbue feeling. Much of my inspiration comes from poetry, with little phrases or lyrics sparking up an entirely new world in my mind to build upon.

 

Ethereality, romanticism, strength and language are the heart of my handwriting.

 

I grew up in Waldorf education, which allows me the unique understanding of many niche fields. From woodworking, hand knitting and eurythmy to theater performance, fine arts and gardening, my experiences have allowed me a greater appreciation and wealth of knowledge to pull from for my chosen field of fashion. Furthermore, each outlet has allowed me to refine my interest to know wholeheartedly that my heart is in fashion.
